COVID-19 Community Relief Effort

Apr 29, 2020 | Custom Signs

Bakers’ Signs will be handing out hundreds of lunches and masks each Friday during the month of May.

This Friday, May 1st 2020, Bakers Whiskey & Rub will be providing BBQ lunches.

We will have a food truck for each following Friday.

All costs will be covered by Bakers’ Signs and our cook team sponsors:
GSG
Reese
Grimco
Principal
Daktronics

We will also be hosting a food drive for the community and all donations will be matched by Bakers Signs.

In Texas alone, several families are being affected by the Pandemic in many ways that you can imagine. There are approximately 750,00 people that have filed for Unemployment Benefits since March, just in our state. Additionally, many families are also struggling to find child care as essential workers are expected to be working but have no place to leave their children. Based on a new study from WalletHub, Texas has ranked in 39th place where the biggest hit has been on small businesses. This has taken a toll on all Texans.

Thankfully, we are giving back to the community! Bakers’ Sign is happy to announce our May Charity event, Food Truck Friday, aka FREE Meals & Masks! Every Friday in May, Bakers’ Signs will provide the community with a free meal and mask. This is our way of giving back to the community in these difficult times. We understand how hard it may be for some finding a mask for every member of their family, and finding a warm meal can be a struggle, too. Here at Bakers’ Signs, we know these are difficult times. Many have been laid off, furloughed, and are struggling to manage during the Pandemic. This is what motivated us to give back to the community.

For our second Free Meals & Masks Event on May 8, 2020, we didn’t just hand out face masks and meals. We were surprised by a last-minute truck-load donation of groceries like milk, juice, canned goods, and produce from our friends at New Caney Recycling. Thanks to them, we were able to pass out groceries to several hundreds of families along with the 800 masks and meals we were able to provide for them.

At Bakers’ Signs, we are always trying our best to find ways we can give back to the community. We need to take care of those around us now more than ever. This is why we continue to work hard and find help from other local grocery stores to make this weekly event even bigger! We are reaching out to grocery stores in our community and teaming up with organizations like Texas Boys Outdoors. We want our event to be even bigger next Friday, and we want that to be possible with the help of the media. If we have enough exposure on social media platforms, we can grow this event to be even larger and more successful.

It has been really exciting and humbling to see the families that come out and are truly in need of help. That’s what’s driving us to help as much of the community as possible. This is the time to show how Texans take care of their people. During this time, we are much more than a sign company. We are here to help those in need.

We may not know when this will all be over, but we are doing what we can for our community. Please join us this Friday and the rest of Friday’s in May! We are here for you and your family. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about our May Charity Event, “Free Meals & Masks.”
